2025 Is Not Like 2024

2024 was my year of “fuck it” - the year I stopped waiting and did what I’ve always wanted to do. Here’s what I learned: no one’s sending us misfits an invitation to the table. We have to choose ourselves, as @sethgodin says;, again and again.

So I did. I made a went on my first tour, wrote and produced a short film, did a stand-up hour at Edinburgh Fringe, crowdfunded post-production for the short film, learned how to film my sets professionally, produced @misfitcomedyco many collaboration shows including @madmaskorade, relaunched by TikTok channel, started doing on-the-street interviews, and took the four-week Le Jeu class at Gaulier.

Did I have anxiety attacks? Yup. Moments of crushing self-doubt? Also yup. But I had my people in various capacities, from cheerleaders to tough-love guides, holding me up through it all.

As we head into 2025, I’m not coming with that same “fuck it” energy. The reality is different now. For those of us who are different, who are loud, who don’t fit the mold - the fight ahead feels heavy.

But here’s my promise: This is my year of “I’m here for you.” Because misfits? We stick together. And remember: nothing’s stopping you but yourself. Take up space. Make your own table. Do the damn thing. 💪
